What is ionic membrane electrolysis
The ion-exchange membrane electrolyzer is mainly composed of anode, cathode, ion-exchange membrane, electrolytic cell frame and conductive copper rod.
The anode of the electrolytic cell is made of metal titanium mesh. In order to prolong the electrode life and improve the electrolytic efficiency, titanium anode is coated with titanium, ruthenium and other oxide coatings. The cathode is made of carbon steel mesh coated with nickel. The cationic exchange membrane divides the cell into a cathode chamber and an anode chamber. Cation exchange membrane has a special nature, i.e. it only allowed by cation, and stop by anion and gas, that is only allowed by Na +, and Cl -, OH - and gas is not through. This can not only prevent the explosion caused by the mixing of H2 produced by cathode and Cl2 produced by anode, but also avoid the effect of Cl2 and NaOH solution on NaClO and the quality of caustic soda.
