When electrolyzing molten sodium hydroxide, iron or nickel can be used for the tank body. Electrolyzing molten electrolyte containing chloride often causes the anode to generate damp chlorine gas due to the inevitable introduction of a small amount of water into the raw material.

The electrodes at both ends of the BiTAC Electrolyser products of the bipolar type are respectively connected with the positive and negative poles of the DC power supply to become the anode or the cathode.
